Where are my carpet tacks? I could've hammered the vinyl outer covering to the wooden base structure of my haybox, and put down the base insulation
which alien stole them? which fairy took them and replaced them with half a cup of cold tea?

Hey edinburgher - you'd be *well right* about 1,000 calories a slice..... just from looking at 'em :rotfl:
They're originally a recipe by Hugh F-W and he makes them in an 8"x8" tin (20cm x 20cm) and suggests cutting them into 16 portions. I make them in the same size tin, but make 12 portions. They are predominantly for DP when he cycles - as he just burns up energy and resembles a stick insect! But I agree, the ingredient list...... They are totally moreish, but I try to limit myself to one out of each batch of 12 - unless i'm planning a 20 mile hike - in the cairngorms - or somethingThey'd go straight to my hips!
Ok for cyclists, runners and all-round sporty type folk though

Morning!
Greying, thanks for the detail on the energy bars. I hadn't quite appreciated how ultra they wereIf I were making it regularly, maybe I'd need to tweak - replace the honey with milk or something - as I eat most of my treats in the evening
What I was really after was a few ways to use peanut butter in cookery, thats all :rotfl:
So, today is about doing lots of bits in lots of areas, as I have clients the rest of the week, my mum and sister are here on Friday, and the builder's here on Monday, plus its a difficult family day on Monday, and I need to be available for my sister.

Ingredients:

Method:
Unscrew lid and eat with spoon.
That would be why I don't buy it.

But when I read Greying's posts, I do feel I'm missing out somewhat. And I remember a previous boyfriend who was a chef doing wondrous things with peanut sauce
Sitting here shattered with quite a strong cup of tea - instead of mopping, I swept - thats what you do, isn't it, before you mop - dear me. Dear, dear me  I did all the upstairs surfaces, and the stairs and hallway (clients from tomorrow, so it has to be done anyway) and my living room rug. All my arthritis is saying "ouch" - and I'm having to lift my cuppa tea with both handsbetter not do too much more of that today.
Off soon to do the town type things2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
hey mrs ... loving the recipes ... thankyou and thanks greying for the origonals0

You're very welcome, El - after the brilliant financial whizzery, its the least I could do
Just got back from town, feeling suitably shattered now, but got done what I wanted to get done. Made a slight faux pas at the Post Office - the stamp to send my cheque to the French management company has gone up from 88p to 97p!!! The member of staff who served me suggested I make a complaint .... oops! No, its just shock, thats all right
Thing is, in the last year, France has caught up a little bit with us on the direct debit side of things - you couldn't do them before, which is why I've been sending cheques (they have something like a DD, called a virement, which costs three euros - way more than a stamp!). So I'll be getting the new payment format set up, through website contact.
Another shock at Iceland, of the "pleasantly surprised" variety :j Sainsbo frozen broccoli is now £1.40 a kilo, and 900g at Iceland is still £1 - I really had better start using them for frozen veg, simple enough to do.
Off to cross things off the list :j:j:j
ETA - I don't care that I haven't finished the list, I'm going to do those microwave cookies
EETA - bGGr, no I'm not - I don't have some of the fiddly bits. Will adapt2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Good God. I made the one minute microwave cookie, and while it was simple, and simple enough to do again, the recipe needs tweaking. I gave myself temporary sugar poisoning!2023: the year I get to buy a car0
