  • So sorry you're feeling under par today, Karmacat, especially if the sun is shining where you are and you want to get up and go. Was a very cold and frosty start here this morning, I even had to scrape ice:eek: (albeit softish ice) from my car windscreen at 7 this morning so I could head out.

As for the new and 'improved' forum, words fail me. Well, not exactly, I could talk for England:o. Like you I spent so much time that I could ill afford to waste yesterday faffing about with it.

Apparently it's practically a fait accompli and the change will happen, presumably after a few more tweaks. It's said that it's been tested by volunteers but we all know that anyone volunteering to beta-test software and websites is probably a techie anyway and will doubtless have a completely different idea of what works and is appealing than us ordinary users.

I'm not a happy bunny today, despite having so much else to be thankful for.

Oh dear, have a gentle hug you lot! ((()))))

Good job it's virtual :D I'm sniffling and snuffling and feeling sorry for myself too :o Keep finding myself reading the paper or doing a jigsaw in the work kitchen, wondering how I got there :o :rotfl: Keep dragging myself back to my desk but somehow don't seem to be able to stay here for very long :o :rotfl:

Going out for tea with some folks from work tonight so I suspect I shall stage a miraculous recovery in time for that :rotfl: (or at least I'll stop feeling as sorry for myself once I'm doing something fun!)

Hope you perk up soon KC, not nice to be feeling so rough and not able to do anything xx

Another non-fan of the new look here - I wasted time yesterday trying to get the old view back and was glad to find it 'normal' again today :)

Oh, thats interesting that people were *asked* and didn't volunteer, beanie! Hmm. CBC, greent, it was tough, wasn't it! CBC, I appreciate the comment about how much you have to be grateful for otherwise, I like that :) Hopefully they'll take enough notice so that at least you can see what threads you've looked at, and which threads have new posts - retaining functionality, its called!!!

Cheery, sorry you're lurgified too! Yes, lets keep contact virtual and not spread all those germs around :o:rotfl: my business partner is the only person I know who isn't ill!

Hope you perked up for your tea (I love the thought of going out for tea :) ). I perked up, definitely, enough to do half an hour in the garden - chopping up brambles into little pieces, mostly - I'm just being really careful, and not doing much at all - I have lots of theories about what my body's telling me - most of which boil down to "stop trying so hard" :p so I'll be off to bed with book, kindle and cuppa fairly soon :)

Glad you got some stuff done in the garden :)

I made my comment about 'volunteers' after reading a post by Martin himself! I didn't just assume it was volunteers rather than invited members who have been testing it.

Unable to do a link for some reason but the relevant comment from Martin (copied and pasted directly from his long post) is:

    4. We've been testing this with a large panel of users for many months, this isn't just being sprung from nowhwere - and we asked for volunteers.

His full post (which also suggests the 'old' version will continue to be available if people prefer it) is to be found here:

Title of thread........Poll: What do you think of the NEW LOOK MSE?

As I said, unable to get link to work:eek:

I saw a thread last year by chance and tested it. If it's the same now as it was then neither wonder you're complaining - I can't remember specifics but do recall it was very 'white' which still seems to be there :(
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Hope you are feeling lots better today KC
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

CBC - I vaguely remember that, and I'm not surprised the linkies don't work - I think peeps in the office were a bit thrown by what happened, and they've probably shut things down pretty firmly  I'm going to pretend it never happened :p

Thanks Watty! Yes, not bad, ta muchly. The new system of echinacea- salt gargle - vit c - Vick's First Defence seems to be working :D I also think its crucial for me in particular to get enough sleep, as I don't seem to have the health reserves to go into much of a sleep deficit, so I'll watch that more carefully now.

Its raining quite a bit here - I'm glad of it, for my containers if not the ground - I have figs, witchhazel twigs and ransoms all growing in containers (I know now where I want to move the ransoms to, but not now, when they're just getting their growth on).

Another quiet day - I *might* pootle into town this afternoon, if it stops raining as the weather forecast says. The house is tidier, things are a bit easier to find, I'm trying to do joined-up thinking about my future, that feels better. The house isn't clean, of course :D the floors are seriously dirty, and I still haven't tackled that patch of mould, but those two things aren't affecting useability.

The mould has to be dealt with soon, of course, as that would affect my health eventually :o

Otherwise, I'm going to finish moving my "office" stuff back into the office, and working there again - I moved into the kitchen over the winter, for health/warmth, but its nicer using the office for office stuff :j
