Hi all

have decided to get either a Qashqai Tekna or 3008 exclusive in petrol mode later this year, so which would be the preferred choice of the forum?

Nissan is around 2008/9 Peugeot 2010/11, both around the 8k to 9k mark

many thanks

I had a 2008 Qashqai Tekna (2.0 diesel, 4WD). I'd have another in a heatbeat...if I wasn't just about to take delivery of a new BMW 3 series company car!

Well, the Peugeot is French - enough said.
Then again the Nissan is half French, but apparently have recovered from the poor reputation they started out with

The Nissan is the better car, but the Peugeot 3008 is as cheap as chips if you buy nearly new.

There is a new Qashquai out imminently, so thats worth bearing in mind if you're looking at new or nearly new, and the 3008 is due a facelift

My SIL has had both a 1.5DCI and 1.6 petrol Qashquai. Her biggest complaint was the lack of any sort of "pull" with the petrol car. She found it dead compared to the diesel. Quite a heavy body for a 1.6 petrol engine.

Other than that, she loved them both.

I guess there's some considerations such as how long you plan to keep it etc. If you're having it for a few years then getting another, the big French car will be worth far less than the Nissan come replacement time. May also be worth checking to see if either brand have any good servicing deals.

Overall though I'd agree with the others in saying that the Nissan is a fine car.
