Where to buy decent leather sofa's?

Just moved into new house and looking to buy a leather suite and wondered if anyone has noticed any good deals out there or where is best place to buy from? ideally around birmingham.

Our budget is £1500, looking for something that going to last a while.

I would have recommended Frayling (ours is in really good condition after 20 years) but they outsourced abroad, lost quality and eventually closed down. However, people still sell these suites on Ebay, at rock bottom prices (collect only so a limited market/price).

I don't know what quality you would get new, for your budget, as my suite cost well over that in 1992 and that was from the factory shop, so much reduced.

If i can get one that stays in good condition for even 10 years i'll be happy.

Seen a few that start showing the poor workmanship gone into them even after a year. Thats what i'm worried about.

Second vote for Indigo. Have a leather sofa from there, it's fantastic, and the staff are lovely.

Indigo produce superb quality furniture that is made to last
    Lots of knowledge about leather
  • Laura Ashley are good quality - It's a longish lead time though as I believe they are made to order.

Cousins in Tysley bought my leather suite there about 20 years ago still going strong (although I spent £2,250 even then) and is about to be replaced only because my new wife does not like leather.

All we have to do is find something that fits the living room that she does like :)
I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.
  • I Have a Halo brown leather sofa which is about your price range. I've had it over 7 years now and it is lasting really well. Not sure whether it is just this make or all leather sofas that seem to though.
