I have some standard life shares which were given to me when they floated on the stock market and I am looking to sell these to put the money towards my wedding fund. My question is - how do I sell these??
Thanks

I did this only 2 days ago. I'm assuming you have your shareholder reference number and havent re-registered your shares with another broker? Do you use https://www.standardlifeshareportal.com/forms/Default.aspx to see your holding?
I was given 3 options when I spoke to someone over the phone:- Instruct the sale over the phone (0845 608 1484) attracting charges of 1%.
- Visit capitadeal.com and sell them at 0.5%.
- Instruct them via post to sell which I think caps the charges at £11.50 but you risk selling them at a lower price (depending on when the instructions are acted upon).
I used option 2 and it was extremely easy. Cost me about £17.50 to sell £3,550 worth of shares.
