Power windows stuck in closed position
Citroen C2 (56 plate) parked on my driveway on a very chilly night, the driver side electric windows stopped working next morning. When i press the power button it just does a trigger and then nothing happens. Passenger side windows are working fine, problem is only with driver side. any thoughts? If the motor needs replacement, how much would that cost approximately?
thanks!
thanks!

Was there frost on the window?0

Yes, Lots.0

Do you think it might be frozen shut? You could have damaged the mechanism if trying to wind down if frozen in closed position.0

Now there is no frost now and the other window started working. Its like something stuck as it does a trigger when i press the button and then nothing happens.0

Try re-setting the anti-trap system.
Assuming your car has such a system on the electric windows.
Varies on how to do this by vehicle, it'll be in the hand book.0 -
Happened to me once whilst driving a newish Mondeo. I managed to fix it by pressing the window down button (with the ignition on) and slamming shut the door hard.
By no means a technical reply but it worked for me!
Edit
This is assuming its a problem with the motor jamming rather than the anything else0 -
Dont try to operate the electric windows or wipers when its frozen/frosty.
Your just going to break things. Blow a fuse at the very least.
Used to get it every winter. Someone would try and clear a layer of ice and several inches of snow with the wipers. Except the wipers were frozen to the screen.
Most of the time the fuses popped. But sometimes the wiper linkages would break. A couple of times the damaged wiper arm would drag itself across the screen putting grooves deep enough to plant peas in. Or across the paintwork on the bonnet.
Always lift the wipers off teh screen to make sure they are not stuck and clear the snow by hand dont let the wipers do it.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

You have to be aware of these things:D
I once had an Alfa with electric window problems, but a short thump on the door panel usually did the trick;)0 -
