Wife got her MOTB outfit in the Fashion House in Magherafelt at the end of a 6county trawl. Lovely people to deal with and nothing was too much bother for them.0

I had 3 very different experiences of blush on the lisburn road, 1 excellent and 2 atrocious so on that basis I would say don't go there. Oh and also just remembered some fancy shop up near king's hall who tried to sell me a grey baggy trouser, top amd cardigan look because and I quote" it is great at covering bulk"!!
I ended up getting my outfits made for me by a fantastic couturier in larne, think it was Kathryn Morrison, brilliant.0 -
The best shop for Mother of the Bride in Lurgan is Chantilly lace/After Dark at the top of the town, heading towards Magheralin, Gilford Road.
Although you may want new, if you dont mind it not being brand new, there is a shop in Moira that does second hand clothes, alot of the outfits are mother of the bride and super expensive pieces at a reasonable price. IMHO why spend hundreds or thousands for one day!!
Being larger doesnt mean being harder to get for, think of good materials. In June a very lovely well cut dress, put together with a fitted jacket, good sleeve length and nice shoes and hat could be fabulous.
Also dont be afraid to have a look at House of Fraser especially sale stuff now, and get some lovely key pieces to match!
hope this helps0 -
Hat Heaven in Banbridge is good. They have lots of dresses and outfits, not only hats.0

Thank you all for your help. I went to Moira and got 3 piece suit in Another Chance i dont mind that it was worn before and agree about spending so much money for it to be worn once. Hopefully nothing happens it on the day and i will get it dry cleaned and take it back and might get something back on it. Another Chance has loads of outfits, shoes, bags and headwear i also got a hatinator to match my outfit.0

I see this shop all the time on facebook, was going to have a look at wedding dresses and MOTB outfits for mum , can anyone recommend or not recommend ???
Thanks
I'll give you two examples - the first is my wife's experience and the second happened my friend. Since these happened I've heard numerous similar stories from others.
When my wife went looking her dress she found one she loved. The sales woman told her Perfect Day were exclusive stockists of this dress in NI and she wouldn't find the dress anywhere else. The meant a lot as we had 7 other weddings that year along with our own and she was dreading someone else having her dress at one of the weddings. She decided to go with perfect day. However, at a wedding fayre a few weeks later she saw the dress again - a bit of investigating uncovered that quite a few shops in NI stock the dress and perfect day had lied. When confronted about it they denied saying they were exclusive stockists and said they were premium stockists. However my wife was with her mum and sister and they are all certain they said exclusive - it was discussed at the time do there is no doubt about it. They lied.
The second example is a similar story. They told a friend that the dress she liked was next year's dress and she wouldn't find it anywhere else in NI. Yet again this was found to be a lie and there were plenty of other stockists. Again, this was discovered at a wedding fayre when another shop had the dress on display.
It seems they will do anything for a sale. I would advise anyone to avoid them - they're not nice people to do business with.0
