parking fine

Hi,
My husband has received a parking fine from New generation parking he was stopped in cardiff bay on the yellow lines with the engine running just before Xmas (it was really busy and I just nipped to pick up a large item from argos ) he was ready to move if he was in anyone's way. He was not parked and was in the car but no one asked him to move we just got a ticket in the post. Do we have to pay it is £75? We have had conflicting advice from friends about this company

If you are new on a forum, read the 'sticky threads' which are the information notices & threads of FAQs stuck at the top of all the other threads. Especially when one gives you a clue to read it, as it's called 'Private parking ticket? Newbies please read this first!' It is a bit odd how often we all give a link to the top threads on the forum which have been utterly missed so far but do read the information now, as well as another 'sticky thread' called 'Successful complaints about PPCs' as it was a retail park.

Appeal and complain = easy. Other threads tell you exactly how to win.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • I did read the link coupon mad but it didn't make much sense to me, also have been told by so many people to just ignore it. Also forgot to mention it is a company car, also read link for this and still not sure what we are suppose to do do they have to prove who was driving the car ?

as its in england and wales only a fool would ignore it so those people telling you this are idiots

if the NTK goes to the hire company, they may be daft enough to pay it and then invoice the hirer

all this is explained in that NEWBIES thread

there is a complete section on hire and lease cars in that thread, so dont tell me it wasnt there or wasnt clear enough as it looks clear to me (sorry)

the point here is to get the PPC to deal with the driver, which it seems that somebody has told them who the driver is , seeing as he got a ticket and isnt the owner/registered keeper (as its a company car)

Please read it again, we can't re-write it personally every time. But I have actually just spent an hour earlier, splitting the info up which might help you see the wood for the trees in the sticky FAQs. Come on, it's easy to appeal if you just read the example appeals linked there...

Why the 'heck of hecks' would anyone with a company car be daft enough to think it would be a good plan to ignore a parking ticket that is then going to go to the lease/fleet Manager?! People telling you to ignore it are a YEAR out of date and have no clue about the difference with a lease /company car (which after all, is also covered in the sticky thread).
