Do Cheque Books run out?

My daughter needs a cheque for a school holiday to confirm her space for tomarrow. we haven't used the cheque book in years would it still be okay to use. The cheques are TSB ones.

I used a chequebook that still had "Abbey" named as as the issuing bank over Christmas which must be about 10 years old, and of course Abbey no longer exists, now being Santander. The cheques were honoured with no problem - the important thing is the sort code/account number was still valid.

My daughter needs it to go on a trip to kenya with the school, we have to pay the deposit and the rest she can raise through funding raising and sponsership. They will be teaching children in kenya in 3 schools and doing aid work. Next task is to figure out how to get sponsors.
