Card protection from Feb 2003.
It was a 3 yr scheme.
So it then ran for another 3 years until Feb 2009 when we learnt we were protected anyway via bank and cancelled it (and told them why!).
So contacted them today. I have had dates and policy number confirmed. They however tell me that Sainsburys opted out of the redress scheme?
I am confused now as to what I should do next to reclaim our policy fee (or if we can?)
Sorry I know it will be covered somewhere but have searched and am just puzzled by all the information and what is relevant to our situation. Thanks will follow :A

:j £160 refund!
Really shocked. I contacted Sainsburys to try and establish if our CCP insurance was with them. I was sure it was direct.
Anyway no record. Then got passed on to various departments then back to CPP. Lots of details left and told they would get back to me but had little hope.
Anyway letter arrived today (from sainsburys) Refund plus 8%!
And all on my own! , my. Martin Lewis skills are improving. Just trust the force!
We had no records! Just a distant memory of having CPP insurance for our bank cards.0 -
Hi
Would love to know what magic you did to get through to the right people. CPP told me Sainsburys not in the redress scheme and to contact Sainsburys direct. I phone them and they put you through to Halifax /Bank of Scotland claims who deal with PPI not CPP and guess what? They refer you back to CPP redress. Now CPP redress are not CPP but merely the company managing the claims process. They advised me to phone CPP directly on 01904733649 or email them on enquiries@cpp.co.uk. This is my next step.
If you do phone Sainsburys on the number CPP redress give you (01313382995) then it goes to a mail box for someone whose name you can't hear and unsurprisingly the mail box is full (probably 1000s on messages)
I will let you know how I got on.
If others are having the same problem keep the thread going.
Martin, if you and your team read this please help!!0 -
If I could I would help.,this was a while ago.
We basically had similar, passed from number to number and back! One tele rep seemed more helpful than others and took all our details. Then out of the blue came a cheque.
Basically we swear we had CCP insurance, with the key fobs etc which were all branded. But apparently it was sold via sainsbury in our case. Still confused by it.
Good luck.0 -
Dilums should write a complaint to Sainsbury's.0
