Price is around £30K.
Seller doesn't want to carry cash all across Europe to the UK and has suggested bank transfer.
Is there a way for me to receive the funds safely?
I don't want to see the car go our of my driveway and then then a cancellation of the bank transfer.

Alarm bells are ringing all over the place for me here,
Why does someone from mainland europe want a UK RHD car?
Are they meeting you or are they organising to have the car picked up?
I would be extremely careful.0 -
Could he do the bank transfer at your house on the morning he collects the car, you then confirm with your bank that its all cleared, and he takes the car when its all confirmed and cleared?
Most bank transfers happen within a few mins now don't they?0 -

Some banks still take several days, and also i wouldnt like to be guaranteeing that movement from a European bank will mean an instant transfer.0 -
Car is American LHD. ( not available in RHD )
Hence he interest.0 -
Still doesn't sound good. Lots of scams this way.
Is he planning to come over personally and collect the car?
Any mention of a friend or 'company' collecting the car I'd run away.
Can he arrange, through his bank, to collect cash at yours which you can then put straight into your account?
Otherwise, phone calls at your bank to make the transfer seem the best idea. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -
Yes, he is coming over in person with a friend.
He works for an Audi dealership in a European capital city.
Googling Audi and city - bring up the dealership as the first hit.
Google maps / streetview also shows the main telephone number
Phoned the switchboard on the website and asked to be passed through to him.
Spoke to him personally.0 -
Getting better then.
Actually setting up the transaction prior to him coming over should be possible. Then it will just be a call while he is in your bank or a call to your bank to check the funds have gone in.
Upshot/summary - have a word with your bank. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0
