Very damp conservatory walls...

Options
Hi

We had a diy conservatory built in March/April, I decided to get a builder to do the foundations & dwarf wall & family erect the PVC. We've had no end of trouble with the dwarf wall.. the builderbuilt it on a slab & told us to put a small gravel edging around it. We put a 'kick off' so the water had somewhere to go, painted a black paint on that I cant remember name of & gravel egding.

Due to the heavy rain we've had the walls are still very damp.. does any1 know if this problem can be solved? - we do know that the builder put a damp proof course in as we saw that.

Thanks in advance, hope someone has answers :)

The walls are damp to the touch inside after the rain?

I don't think that damp proof course is working properly. I'd get someone out to look at it properly. It certainly doesn't sound right at all. We had an idiot of a builder pour the concrete floor right over the damp proof course once. :wall:

Thanks, - yes its damp to touch & has been for a long time, it does dry out but when it rains again stays same! - I can see bits of salt too. I will get a builder in as soon as, I just want to know whether this prob can be solved or not as the last thing we would want to do is start over!

I presume the outside ground level is BELOW the damp proof course and not ABOVE it ?????
Are you sure the water is rising up and not going down from the top for some reason???
Should not be damp at all no matter how hard and lomg it rains.....sounds a bit like a poor job somewhere.
Is the dwarf wall single skin or does it have a cavity with insulation???

    Hi

The ground level is below the slab, I think the water is coming in through the brick??

I have asked a builder to come look at the mess

Sounds like the cavity is full of crap or insulation to me and its transfering the water through to the inside skin of brick.
