Hi
I really hope someone would be able to advise what i can do in the situation where i have held 2 mortgage protection policies with Aviva for many many years and when the time has come to make a claim on these as i have been made redundant they have tried every avenue to not pay out. I have complained about their reasons and explained my side of the story. Aviva asked if i had any insurance for other loans. I don't have any loans so obviously answered no. In conversation with them i mentioned a credit card and they claimed this prejudiced my policies and are refusing to pay out for non disclosure as i answered no to a loan question, even though the policy concerend is a fixed payment regardless of any other insurances you have and it doesnt impact it anyway. i have a case open with the ombudsman but this isn't gong to be a quick process. i feel like i have no where to turn and Aviva can pretty much do what they like and get away with not honouring their obligations. any advice would be very welcome. I feel that i have been sold policies they were never intending to pay so could this be mis selling?

No. Mis-selling is related to the incorrect sale of policies. Your issue is poor claims handling.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
why didnt it pay out, what was exact reason? i think there is more to this.
if you were made (involuntary) redundant all you have to do is register for job seekers allowance and complete all forms, then get form stamped by dwp every month of claim. not sure what a credit card has to do with anything.
and dunstonh is right, this is nothing to do with mis-selling.0
