Just wondering if anyone has ever used the headlight bulbs? They appear to come in long life, xenon effect or 50% extra brightness. Having just shelled out ~£18 on a pair of Osram Nightbreakers these seem like a cheap spare set maybe (not expecting them to be as good as Osram - or am I wrong?)

Anyone used these in the past?

they're the same repackaged stuff you see advertised everywhere. Sometimes they have AA branding on them. Sometimes ASDA own brand. They're a decent spare,

The LIDL headlamps I bought for my Mk2 Focus (Ultimate Speed 2x H7 +50%) are OSRAM bulbs (on the base of the bulbs are branded "Wotan 12637"). Made in Germany. A good buy.

Incidentally. One of my headlamp bulbs exploded a couple of years ago (not the ones refered to) and the hot glass pieces can make a real mess of your headlamp enclosure and the bits of glass can be hard to remove.

So probably not worth buying unbranded bulbs from pound stores.

Used Lidl bulbs for years, never had one blow, in contrast to the "branded" ones I had been using. Just changed one yesterday on sons BMW 3 series, and it is noticeably brighter than the other side now, so for the price I'll do the other one as well.
