short courses that can lead to good jobs?

Anyone know of any short courses that can lead to a job with a half-decent salary?
Say less than 1 year course (shorter the better)
Pay: better than minimum wage
Let's see if we can get a good sized list to give me (and others?) some ideas.

Any course CAN and there are plenty of jobs above NMW which require no courses at all.
Of cause there are those that do long courses and end up on NMW or unemployed but that cannot be put purely down to the course0 -
AAT level one you can do in 6 months. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I did a journalism course that was 3 months + 1 month work experience. You get placements at a newspaper and other people on the course were offered jobs then. It costs about £3000 (funding available) and you are immediately qualified to work at newspapers.
The only thing you need is ambition and a competitive streak!"The best things in life are free"
FREEBIES 2011: 3x eye cream (product testing), £100 M&S vouchers (Sky upgrade), Greenzone DVD (online DVD rental), 3x Finish Quantamatic (vouchers)

very short, but you can get a forklift licence in a number of days and could then get a warehouse job for probably around £7.00 per hour.
Boring and depressing job in general, though.
Must be better ideas...
Hopefully others can think of some good ones0 -
I'm sure I saw a short course on growing money trees. Maybe try that.0

You can do fasttrack AAT at some FE Colleges that will take you from Level 2 (most people dont need level 1) to Level 4 in one year. Very intensive and hard work.
Look at PAT testing courses and what is available job-wise in your area.0 -
Thanks everyone (except ''Opinion'', obviously!
)
Please keep 'em coming. There must be something out there for someone like me!!0 -
I see jobs around here as payroll administrators quite a lot paying a little over minimum wage.
Are there payroll admin courses / qualifications that you can get?
Or is that just a part of an overall accountancy course??0
