  • At present I have been trying to use the site since 8.30 am with no joy! This is genuinely poor! It just keeps crashing I think I added one thing to my basket at 0840 before the website continually timing out!

And they had the cheek to send me an auto-email to say I hadn't completed checkout and was there a problem!

I suggest you drop them an email or phone, it's worth letting them know how poor their website is!
  • Already done! I am expecting the "this promotion was more popular than expected" email!

    Really?

I've posted a link to this thread from others-people seem to be finding it difficult to get through by phone, others didn't receive the promised returns label, and others are not getting any responses to emails.
Someone was told today that the original t & cs said there will be no exchanges with the code, and no returns, ( was that explicitly stated?) but that has now been changed presumably when they remembered about distance selling , though that's not what the t&cs of the website say.there is no reference to no sale returns etc on their website t & cs

    But it does say that
Original postage charges are not refundable except for cancellations under Article 14 of Terms of Sale. In other cases, they will reimburse shipping charges and return shipping charges for defective or incorrect items.

What is " article 14 terms of sale" ??!! I can't find an other reference to it on their website.
  • Ok I managed to get through after 10 mins being held on option 3. The lady was very polite and offered me an email with the returns paperwork. I could tell by the time of her voice that there had been an awful lot of unhappy people in the phone to her today. She almost sounded afraid to be talking about refunds to me! She said that the sale t and c state no refunds or exchanges but that they had changed their minds and are now offering refunds but not exchanges on sale items. I think this is because they didn't make customers aware of this in the first place

I love MSE! Just google something mundane you are having an issue with, such as "Ralph Lauren returns" as well as "MSE" and you get a forum like this with lovely people who are experiencing the same incompetence as you are. Wonderful stuff.

So after taking over a week to arrive, from Meelan of all places, my clothes do not fit and I want to send the order back. BUT, I do not have the promised returns label, they do not answer the telephone, reply to emails or the webform (or even acknowledge them) and I cannot take them back to a store. A wholly perfectly cynical setup. Do I want a personal shopper? No I do not. Give me a process whereby I can get my lawfully-entitled refund and stop being shoddy.

So did they intend to hide in a bunker for a week until I no longer can return these items? My understanding of the distance selling regulations gets a bit fuzzy about evasive vendors and whether this protection evaporates at 00.01 on the 8th day...

I will give the procedure suggested above one go to circumvent the awfully short and clunky hold music and failing that call my credit card company who might have more patience (and dialogue) than I.

Thanks everyone. I hope that you get your money back soon. For me, I'll not buy another thing from this company. They are operating like cowboys. And their clothes rrp at how much?

Exactly the same situation here - cannot get through to them by telephone, Ive been trying for days now, and I started calling at 9am this morning but still havent got through - it seems they have been experiencing 'unusually' high volumes of calls - all week?! Which would suggest its not that unusual then!

Emails are just getting ignored, Im not sure what else I can do - I paid with my debit card so I dont think I can do anything.
