Ralph Lauren 40% off code issues - now resolved

Official MoneySavingExpert update 11.20am, Wed 15 Jan: The MSE blagged code RLFF14 is now working on all devices.

We're hearing reports that the Ralph Lauren 40% off sale code isn't working on mobile devices. It should be working in all browsers on PCs, but if you're having trouble, please post below to let us know.

Just spent an hour trying to get it to work. The posted code appears to work, but then the discount disappears once you start checking out.

Called and finally got through to someone who was really helpful, advised to use the new code as the user above, but again it bombed out at the final step so the price went back to full price.

We placed the order manually over the phone, and then her system crashed, but she called me back and it's done now.

I couldn't get it to work on the web.

Just my experience - someone else might get it to work.

Why post a thread to report problems then delete scrummymummy and others helpful information? You've deleted everything posted between 9.00am and now I have screen grabs. The posts gave a code that Ralph Lauren is giving to people who call because it says RLFF14 does not work. Did you delete scrummymummy's hepful post because you are only paid for the code RLFF14 so do not want people to have the alternative that Ralph Lauren is giving out to telephone callers? Very poor. There are no 'tops' at the advertised prices, only two sleeveless t shirts (t shirt is not a top). My son bought me a lovely Ralph Lauren cotton shirt and classic jumper from an outlet store for Xmas. I managed to prize out of him how much he paid. Prices on the website are a joke, Don't waste your time with the website. Hugely misleading advertising of prices by MSE.

We can confirm the MSE blagged code is now working on all devices.

Ralph Lauren has said it experienced intermittent site stability issues at about 5.30pm yesterday. Its USA team worked throughout the night to resolve the issue, but in doing so, all discount codes were rendered inactive from 1am to 8am.

It's not sure what caused the issue on mobile devices, but it is now resolved.

Apologies to all who had trouble with the code this morning.

Browntoa, why were the deleted posts off track? A link was provided in the MSE advertisement to this forum thread to report problems which is what a few people did, helpfully. Why has the link to this thread in the advertisement been removed? Once your advertisement went live consumers followed up, some spent several hours. By sharing the alternative code that RL was giving telephone callers, consumers had not wasted their time. Why would you want people to waste several hours of their time and not to have an alternative working code? Because of your post I am complaining to the ASA that the advertisement was misleading - there were no tops at the advertised price only t shirts as confirmed after a long phone call with an RL customer service rep.

The thread to report that a useless code has been given and 1000s of people are causing the RL site to crash and countless others to spend ages on hold on their phone line??? I forgot we no longer live in a democracy.
