Crack in wall - Structual survey result!

I am soooo relieved we never bought. For those of you who have been following, the engineer has been and it is subsidence. He told my hubby that we made the right choice in not buying. I feel desperately sorry for the LL because noone deserves this. But I cannot help but feel extremely relieved we bought elsewhere. Seems like it has to be underpinned and that the problem MAY be caused from the house next door, but he isn't sure. But the underpinning could result in that neighbor suing for cracking!!

And I also feel vindicated after the arguments hubby had with me that I am just being paranoid and always think the worst of everything! ;)

    Good bad news.

Oh well, at least you're out of it!

Snowmaid - I'm really pleased for you and to think he tried to convince you it was nothing! Well done for sticking to your guns!

Thanks to both of you. I am trying to stay very humble because I realise that there are no guarantees that the house we are buying couldn't develop the same problems. But the homebuyers did say there was no sign of subsidence, but then I know this could develop at anytime.

I'm so pleased to hear that your instincts that something was seriously wrong put you off wanting to buy the house & thus saving you wasting money on a structural survey.

Fingers crossed all goes smoothly with the purchase of your new home.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
