Claiming after being paid out

Hi there. My first post.
I have just been sent a PPI claim form from the RBS.
A few years ago I became ill with cancer and started to claim on the policy. As long as I sent a doctor's note every 6 months they made the payments. Eventually my doctor wrote to them to say that I would not be fit to work before the loan period ended. Out of the blue they paid the out-standing balance (minus some arrears) about £9,500! I made the initial payments myself at the start of the loan (about 2 year's worth I think).
Will I still be eligible to claim a refund? If so, would you advise me to use the form they sent me or one off this site perhaps?
Thanks all. Hope you can help:)

On what grounds?
You were clearly eligible to claim and it seems unlikely that the policy cost you more than it paid out.0 -

That isnt how it works. No-one is eligible to claim a refund. You are eligible to make a complaint alleging a wrongdoing. People who have claimed on the policy and received settlement are still entitled to complain. However, they have less reasons to complain about (you knew you had it, you were eligible and you did need it).
If the complaint is successful, then the amount paid out in the claim is deducted from the amount payable from the complaint. This usually leaves people who have claimed getting nothing as the amount of the claim exceeded the premiums paid.
You got £9500 on the claim. How much did you pay in PPI?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
