Argus Car Hire

Having explored various options we decided to book through Argus which had offered a good deal on a seven seat option describing it as a VW Sharon or equivalent. At Faro airport we approached GoldCar as instructed to find that they had booked a Nissan Quasqai which was described as a 5+2. Which in the view of Goldcar was sufficient for 6 adults and their luggage. This is in no way an equivalent to a VW Sharon. Once it became clear that we would not accept this Gold Car refused to provide any further help. Given it was late at night we hired a taxi to transport us to the villa. ( a proper sized 7 Seater). We were without a car for the two weeks of the holiday however the use of a taxi proved cheaper than hiring a car.
Since our return I have contacted Argus to have the deposit we paid them returned as they had not fulfilled their responsibilities. We initially had an email indicating that they were looking into the concerns we raised. Since August there has been no further contact or resolution offered. Based on our experience I could not recommend the use of either Argus nor Gold Car who had a number of dissatisfied customers from the flight on which we arrived.
