Is it possible that the first line of the form is goods + P&P and the P&P is just set out separately further down, but not used for any calculations?

Because this seems it would make sense given the calculations above.

Sometimes you aren't charged VAT on the P+P (read as I personally have never been charged) element especially if it is not clear.

But including it is correct as far as HMRC is concerned.

Just put it down to experience and check how much people are going to put on declaration forms. Don't be tempted to put £10 because if it gets lost or damaged you can't then suddenly claim it is worth £1,000.

Hi all, thank you for all your input on this thread!

I have managed to scan the Customs form in, please see below.

Please ignore the red box that I have drawn, I only did the box to show the seller where the problem is.

From what you can see on this form, can you tell how much the goods, the shipping and the total purchase are?

yes but as i said. The postage should be included
so if the seller declared your purchase price, with P&P its still the same
Also they have declared gift. so be careful when you go chasing HMRC

The seller hasn't a problem so why are you bothering them?

YOU HAVE BEEN CHARGED THE CORRECT AMOUNT!!
