Possible CCJ need help

Hello guys, looking for some help here.
I'm going to make this as short as possible, basically around the middle of last year I had a very minor bump in my car (reversing into the side of a car at very low speed). Now the other party has claimed whiplash agains me and I received letters from the courts etc saying I had to pay for expenses etc, so I called my insurance who told me to send the forms in and they'd deal with it.
I've now received another letter today stating that because I've not been in touch with the courts (which I assumed was being done by my insurance, evidently not) I now have to pay £3,000 and have a possible CCJ on my credit file. Surely this can't be the case as it's my insurance company's fault for not contacting the courts when I was told they'd sort it.
Now I'm only 20 and have been steadily building a decent credit history over the past two year having no missed payments on car finance etc, I cannot be having this CCJ on me for 6 years...

Unfortunately, this is what happens if you do nothing - and your insurer drops the ball. All you can do is take it up with them, and get answers. They have the ability to apologise to the court and seek a re-run of the case.0

I am fuming, this is in no way my fault, obviously the reversing into the claimant is but ignoring the courts is not what I expected. When you're told by your insurance that they will sort it you take their word for it.0

Your insurer will sort this (either by paying up so that the CCJ won't be registered or by getting the judgement set aside and defending the claim).
You shouldn't try and deal with this yourself with the court.
Get on to a manager at your insurer tomorrow and forward all documents you have received to them unanswered.0
