Definitely a Bengal spotty tummy!
Love the photos of them curled up together, my girl cat sleeps in crazy positions too. Found her once lying like a person, flat on her back, back legs stretched out and front legs down by her sides, wish I'd got a photo! The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
I've done research on the pattern of her, and because she has horizontal lines on her back and her marbling doesn't make a complete circle and it also follows the horizontal pattern is where she is a Bengal as well as the obvious spots, the vet said she's silver rather than the brown of a tabby.
Just looks like a big tabby with attitude to me!! But Lifeform's description of her Mum's Bengal is so like Nettle. It can't just be a coincidence!I saw two shooting stars last nightI wished on them but they were only satellitesIs it wrong to wish on space hardwareI wish, I wish, I wish you'd care0 -
You do have to remember that Tabby isn't really a "cat", it's just used to describe the coat pattern (from what I remember a long time ago). She has somewhat a bengalise face, pointed, not so filled out as a mog standard moggy, but definitely mixed in with something else.
When talking about pure Bengals, they talk about asymmetry. So marbling, and rosetting/spots on the back and sides. for pure of course, it should not match. But how that transfers over to mixes, not sure. Belly Spots don't automatically say Bengal because many cat breeds have spots too.
A good indication as well is the shiny/glittery of the fur, so hard to describe, but in light, the fur ends shimmer almost.
Frankly build as well comes into it, more substantial build, lean usually, longer legs at the back than the front ones, which often can give the look of on an slope when they're stood all up. The head looks small for the body size, and should show as being slightly longer, than wide.
If it were me, I'd trust the vet and agree with some Bengal in there.
I was looking to see if I could find some of Yum Yums in tart mode but found this one instead. If you walk in and don't say hello to her as a greeting, she gets !!!!ed off. So you say hello Yummy! and she comes over, flops over onto her back, showing off her belly expecting belly rubs. aka tart mode
This is her and the moggy on the Cat tree, moggy is very happy sat on the middle large platform, not doing anything, minding her own, snoozing. Yums stalked around, up and down careful to not disturb her, just so she could whack the moggy; poor thing! Couldn't quite reach, and eventually after this photo, she jumped down one section, woke up the moggy, and deliberately pushed the rescue off.
also I feel the need to steal your lovely cats! They really are beautiful!!0 -
I'm always wondering why her front legs haven't grown like her back legs. She's very long and heavy but certainly not fat and so slippy to hold. Her face is small considering her size and is certainly not wide. Would type more but child (human) is being annoying.I saw two shooting stars last nightI wished on them but they were only satellitesIs it wrong to wish on space hardwareI wish, I wish, I wish you'd care0

Your cats are beautiful, what are the Sphynx's like as pets?0
-
Thanks both.
Sphynx are fantastic as pets, they like to be with you and in your face - literally. When they were on dried food - Royal Canin Gastrointestinal food they were being bathed every week, but since I changed them to raw food a few years ago now the oils on their skin have reached a happy medium and I haven't given them a bath for about a year now. They are due one as they are getting a bit smelly.
In the winter because we're tight they have to wear jumpers to keep them warm during the day and the ginger one has grown hair - well fluff, it disappears in summer.
They are prone to funny tummies and raw food certainly suits them better than manufactured food. I can see why people would use them as a substitute baby, especially if you stick with the weekly bath, ear wash and nail clip. That said my boys aren't dirty, they have fantastic skin and are very soft.
They are quite vocal - but having said that all 4 of them are vocal, and they enjoy having a chat with you, or telling you when something upsets them or they like it, pretty much anything. They have a mad hour or so when they race round the house like lunatics, and finally they hog the fire...

That pic of your sphynx with the jumper on is amazing, he looks so disdainful. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

Omg a cat in a jumper! That is to die for
do they happily wear it? I've always had a fancy for a hairless cat because I think I'd love to dress Them up, and frankly they just look so much more nicer than a hairless dog (sorry dog lovers!). I think it would be mean though here, just turned off the only storage heater in the flat again whilst my cat is on a holiday with the parents.
Thinking about it, I had a rescue cat years ago called Libby. She had shorter front legs, and a stunning coat, and we always thought she was a pedigree gone wrong. She was tabby marked, with the typical M on her forehead, but she was sheeny like, and aloof a lot. Back then I didn't know about bengals, and thinking back it could well be that she had some in her. The face would fit, her coat look, and feel of the coat fitted, as did her legs. I'm going to go dig up some pictures of her full bodied to see. It would explain her attitude of devotion to me, yet the other cats didn't exist in her life. still she would take moments of when she spotted them, in very much seeking them out, and not leaving them alone.
Can we have more cat in clothes??
Oh I know what else I was going to ask, does nettle take any interest with water? That can be a Bengal thing as well, but not exclusively as you show with the sphinx!0
