Who is/was my PPI provider?

Options
Hi,
Hope someone can help me here and i dont sound like a dodo :o
In July 2007 i was in Asda when approached asking if i wanted to sign up for an Asda credit card, usually just smile and say no thanks but she said you also get 2p a litre off petrol from the Asda petrol station on their site so i ended up agreeing and signing up which took all of 5 mins. Anyway GE Consumer Credit Services were the real credit provider and this is who the repayments went to until Santander wrote to me and informed me that from June 2009 Santander Consumer Credit Service was taking over all the "Asda" accounts. Ok, so they now got the payments when I used the card until they told me that of Jan 15th 2013 the card would not be able to be used as they were no longer going to be doing it anymore but that you still had to make any payments due until clearing upon when it would be closed down.
The card is closed now, and has been for 8 months but regarding a PPI claim is it Santander or GE Finance who I should be contacting in the first instance?

Any help much appreciated

It is Asda, they sold you the card and insurance.

You didn't actually say that you had ppi though in your first post.

You would have signed the form to say you accepted it.

Good luck with the rest of the reasons, you are gonna need it.

Is the consensus that Asda are the company to contact in the first instance?
There is no "consensus" or "first instance", you can only make a mis-selling complaint to the company who sold you the insurance. The provider is not responsible, so you complain to Asda.
