Barclaycard 'gift'

Evening all,

Well I just phoned up barclaycard as I've just transfered my balance to the bank of Scotland for a 0% balance transfer deal. I asked the agent to close my account as I'd no longer need it, he asked if there was anything he could do to keep me as a customer as I'm a "fantastic customer" to which I replied jokingly, "how about £50". After a long pause he placed me on hold for about 10 minutes (I'm presuming he was talking to his manager) and then came back to say YES, he will give me £50 to keep my account open! Chuffed!

I will apply for a Barclaycard one day!
