Natwest Overdrawn

Hi
My natwest account has become overdrawn (unauthorised) by £128 from a direct debit to Paypal (which I dispute needs paying)
I'm hoping that Natwest are going to refuse the direct debit and bring my account back into credit.
Will Natwest refuse to allow this unauthorised overdraft and return the direct debit? and if they do, when will it reconcile in my account?

If it's already debited then no, they won't return it. You need to call Natwest to ask them if they can use the direct debit indemnity scheme to get your money back for you. Thats if it is a direct debit, Paypal use different methods of collecting money, it may be a payment taken using your card details.0 -
Probably not - best thing you can do is go down to Natwest and advise them that PayPal has taken the incorrect amount from your account and you'd like to use the direct debit indemnity clause to return the payment.0

I'm not sure what you mean by the fact you dispute the amount owed needs paying.
If you are suggesting the amount taken by Direct Debit was not authorised by you, then as Macca83 says, you are fully covered by the terms of the Direct Debit Guarantee.
Contact your bank and, on request, they must refund you immediately the Direct Debit you dispute
Note that if you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when the organisation asks you to.
(Sometimes they may make a counter claim which, if accepted, may see the amount again debited from your account)
Unless you contact the bank, sitting there hoping the bank will not agree to pay the DD will be fruitless if I understand you correctly - the amount has already been debited from your account!0
