It would be nice if lay commentators on this thread were able to interpret plain English clarification without bulldozing a bit further and questioning the OP's motives to the nth degree (please!).
    I disagree.
Too many threads here start with one version of a problem and are then swiftly contradictory after further discussion.

I also think it was relevant to post about the OP's other debt problems and ask for clarification.

Regardless, OP may well have success if the original 4p was indeed the start of a charging cycle which he could have no knowledge of in the circumstances described ...

Thank you to all those who offered me constructive feedback and advice :)

I've decided to write to Lloyds, offering them £25.04 (the initial bank charge and overdrawn amount). I'll see what they say after that, no harm in asking!

I think this is a fair compromise and you may find it completely wiped.

Yes you are in the wrong, not being on top of your finances, not informing them of a change of address either and basically in their eyes, ignoring the debt.

But the debt was for 4p!!!, therefore the charges applied should reflect the original debt. Nowadays, it seems that £12 is considered to be the standard charge, for over limits and non payments.

Even if it is wiped or the £25.04, is accepted, you really need to look at your credit files and see exactly what is on there and if anything is wrong, get it corrected.

    Hi there,

I have looked and started to pay off all my other debts. I just wanted advice on this particular one because I thought it was a tad unfair that I had been charged nearly 2700% more than the original debt!
