Not sure that RPI includes rent either, but it is hard to find a definitive statement.

Currently 36% of households are rented. Still not sure that private renting is included in any official inflation measure.

Found it in Annex A 04.1. Agreed. Both indices include private and social rent. They differ in home ownership costs.

The US and the rest of Europe have sub optimal inflation and yet somehow our 2% is fudged. :huh:
