in Credit cards
Hi,
My surname has recently changed (married) and I'm gradually changing paperwork. Where is it really important for me to change this for my credit search? (I intend to apply for a balance transfer card soon). Do house deeds etc come up? I've changed my council tax bill (and therefore electrol roll), my bank account (and loan / CC) but haven't changed my car insurance bills etc yet. I'll change all of these, but things like house deeds won't be easy to change.
Next question - I want to apply for a balance transfer CC. Am I best doing this with Halifax, whom my current CC is with? It has 6K on it that I'm looking to transfer.... if its better to look elsewhere (i.e. banks don't like you moving debt onto 0%) then I will.
All advice welcome, thanks.

Changing name wont be an issue as long as (a) at least one company has updated the CRA already in which case your file will hold both your names or (b) the form asks for any other names youve been known as in the last X years (but most dont do this).
0% balance transfers almost always exclude transfers from other cards issued by them so if you want to transfer from Halifax itll have to be to or at least via another card issuer0
