Strange drop down info bar

Since yesterday there has been a drop down bar under the tool bar which reads -

'Sorry we cannot connect you right now. Please come back later and login via the help menu.'

It's a dark pink colour, has a triangle with exclamation mark to the far left and the usual x (for deleting) to the far right. No other identifying marks. It drops down approx every 15 seconds, rolls back up for maybe 5 seconds then drops down again.

I've done a restore point but I keep getting the message 'restore could nor be completed, please choose another restore point'. When I do it just says the same. I've tried left and right clicking on it but it does nothing. I've done a disc clean-up and a defrag just in case it would clear it but no success.

Can anyone advise what is causing it, and how I can get rid of it, before it drives me insane?!

Incidentally I haven't downloaded/uploaded anything on the computer.

Tia

Grumpyone thank you, it worked. Very odd as I've had the Nectar toolbar for a year or two now and never seen anything like this before. For a first time poster(?) that was sound advice - keep coming back!

I may try to install the Nectar toolbar again, but if it happens again I'll know what to do :)
  • Yes a strange one, I too have had it installed a while without problem? I'm assuming it is a temporary fault maybe an update conflict? & will rectify itself, I'll leave it disabled for a while to see.
