I have been going through my tenancey agreement and other paperwork i got when i moved in to my rented house and came across the "prescribed information" along with the certificate of tenancy registration.
On the bottom of the certificate it says.
the deposit holder must give a copy of this form to each of the tenants named above.
Both my self and my other half are named above but we only have one copy. Is this right? or should i have two copies, one each.
Thanks
Colin.

If it's a joint-tenancy there is no reason to send two copies as I assume that as you are a couple you actually communicate with each other on a regular basis.
In a joint-tenancy one person is deemed to be the "lead-tenant" for deposit-protection purposes as a deposit cannot be split up between however many people are named on the tenancy agreement and that is the person who the funds will be returned to once the tenancy ends, and presumably that is the person to whom the prescribed information was addressed to .0
