I've always paid off my Bank of Scotland credit card regularly on a monthly basis and made a full payment over the phone by debit card (from another bank). I tried to do this last week and I was told that this option has been withdrawn, the person on the phone was not able to give any reason as to why. I've looked at their payment options online and it appears the person is correct.
This seems really daft and very inconvenient for me (I don't want to set up a DD and don't wish for internet banking with them).
Just doesn't make sense to me. Is this a new development we might expect from other banks?
Bit of a rant sorry.

Why not just make a faster payment from your bank account?

"From another bank - you will need to provide these details to your bank:
Bank Sort Code 80-20-42
Bank Account no. 00157199
(If your card number begins 525302 please use Bank Sort Code 77-29-00, Bank Account no. 00000000)
Your payment reference is your 16 digit card number"0 -
