Credit Check - Dealing with Identity Fraud

I recently was a victim of identity fraud where I was signed up to several mobile phone contracts. Since this, I now have bad credit rating, how do I go about getting my credit rating resolved?

I have informed the mobile phone companies but it seems to be very slow to get them to do anything and it is out of their hands. Even signing up to Experian only shows you a brake down of credit check report.

Do the mobile phone accounts show on one of your credit files (either experian/equifax or callcredit (aka noddle)?

It will likely take time to resolve this issue. What should happen is that the mobile phone companies will investigate and once happy that the accounts were fraudulent and not made by you they will then remove the account entries (and any associated negative information such as missed payments) from your credit files.

You say they have said it is out of their hands - can you give a bit more information, what has the latest correspondance from each mobile phone company said? Have they accepted/agreed it was fraud? have they said they have informed the credit reference agencies or what?
