Paying too much on my car insurance

I'm with 1st Central car insurance and in September y insurance ran out, so they sent me a renewal quote. So I tried to renew online and via phone, but they had a problem with their system for over a week, the website was down and the phone system didnt wok, they had special line for temporary car insurance. Anyway when they're system came back on, i tried to renew for the same quote but the website was giving me a higher quote, so I called up and basically the offer had expired, but because it was not my fault, the operator said she could renew my insurance and then once its renewed the manager would either refund me the difference or change it back to the original quote.
I was told to wait for 2 weeks for a letter letting know. A month later....not a peep so I called up again, after being sent back and foth to various different departments. I was told they couldnt change my insuance, but they would put it down as a complaint and it would be changed that way. Well my insurance is still £40 a month too much and I havent heard anything from them. Is there anything I can do?

Make your own "formal" complaint in line with their complaints procedure which will be set out in the policy docs.

Then you can escalate it to the FOS if they ignore it (wait 8 weeks) or you are unhappy with the reply.
