Kids on line English learning

Hello I have been using Literacy Planet for a while for my sons home learning but he has been getting very distressed as many of the answers in the comprehension questions are very wishy washy and not clear at all. Often the answers can be one or another in a choice of four offered.
Could anyone please recommend an alternative English programme, primarily reading comprehension exercises...thank you.

We used ADI English and Maths for ours.
It was quite a while ago but the lessons come on CDs and are age specific.
I think you really need to combine them with books and face to face lessons to reinforce some ideas.
The ADI series use games as rewards which was fun for a while although the ADI character was a bit childish once they got past the Primary level of learning.
They also used the 'I love English' and Maths and science came in that same series. The English was useful as a change from the other series and the Maths was reasonable but the Science was the best in that series with hilarious comments and scenarios.
They are much older now (in their 20s) but I think the software is probably still out there. After all, the schools at that time were still using the BBC micro software much of which has been re-coded for more recent machines.
Our absolute best source of school software (and free too) was the Sinclair Spectrum emulator because most schools used it and there is a huge collection of Educational software freely available to download .
