Dehumidifiers simply disguise the issue /mask it.

They treat the symptoms, not the actual issue.

Go find what really does give your issue, fix it.

    PS

It will be lack of heat for your needs. lack or ventillation or extraction.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

    Go for a desiccant model,....
I use an EcoAir DD122FW Simple which I have on a mechanical timer for Economy 7 hours.
But you switch if off manually in the morning, right?

A dehumidifier solves the problem. I don't want to stop breathing, cooking, washing in hot water or drying wet clothing. Opening the windows at this time of year makes the house cold and lets in damp winter air.

I agree with you on that - we got our dehumidifier for the same reason....

I assume that I am correct in thinking that it is better to put the heating on low for a while each day - rather than relying on opening windows to let moisture escape ?
ie) Is it damper outside than inside (approx 70 % humidity) ?

No, the mechanical timer switches it on at 00:00 and off at 07:00. The only time I need to touch it is to empty the water container.

If you switch if off manually, does the fan run for a few minutes before it shuts down?

No. I have the 'Simple' model. I specifically chose it because it is instantly on/off and can be used with a timer.
  • OK, it's just that mine runs on after pressing the off switch to dry the ferrous metal condensing plate. I was concerned that your water maybe turning brown!
