Barclays Question

Here as interesting one, there has been a lot said about the negative aspects of moving to Barclays from the Woolwich. This week we had a bit of a problem where money that was supposed to be paid me was late as a result we went over our 5K overdraft by around £300.00 in about 8 transactions, some card, and one a cheque which was not guaranteed , if this had been the woolwich they would have bounced those transactions for sure. Barclays paid them, yes they charged us a daily fee, but for those three days they paid all the transactions rather than bouncing them. Do they have some kind of automatic limit for this based on your overdraft amount like a % of the available OD or something?

its at the banks discretion, and barclays do authorise dd cheques over your overdraft limit, but you do get charged, it would be worth while asking for these to be refunded if you have recently switched.
hope this helps x;)0
