what am i entitled to? brought from Mattress world :(

I made the unfortunate mistake of buying a mattress from mattress world.
After the joke of a delivery service I eventually received my Mattress to find out that once I unwrapped all the plastic it was not what I ordered its too small ( should have been a double but got a small double), It's the wrong brand, and its not even the same price as what I paid.

Now I have spent a few days trying to get hold of someone at Mattress world by phone and email but have had no luck at all.
I think I either paid for this on my Credit Card or PayPal.

My question is if I paid for this on my credit card can I claim through them? and what am I entitled too? a refund of the difference or the whole lot back.

The same goes for PayPal can I raise a complaint through them?

What do I do with the mattress its they sent me, its opened and currently on a bed.
I'm sure Mattress world will charge me to return it to them and id be surprised if I saw the money again and from the delivery I maybe be waiting months for them to come and collect when they feel like it.

any help would be appreciated, Next time I think i'll just pop to the shops for things like this :(

Before you start with Credit Card company or paypal, you have to contact mattress world. I'd start by emailing them and ask them to collect the wrong mattress and refund you in full.

Well if the mattress isn't as described then you need to get it off your bed and inform the retailer that you're rejecting for a full refund. By continuing to use it you look like you're accepting the mattress.

If the mattress is not what was ordered then although it would make sense to contact the retailer first, a Paypal dispute or Section 75 claim can be started without attempting contact.
  • Thanks for the replies,
I have been trying to contact them, with out much success I'm held on the phone in a queue which is costing me on my phone bill. I've also tried emails and their web forms which I've had no reply from either.
How long is a resonable time to wait for a reply?
Their lack of response is why I was looking at other ways to get a resolution.

    Thanks
