child going to university - when do benefits stop?

Hi
I am a single parent with 2 daughters aged 14 and 17 and work 25 hrs per week. My eldest daughter is at college and finishes at the end of May and is hoping to go to uni in September. She will be 18 at the end of July.
I've spent ages googling this but can't find any recent information - the most recent I can find is for 2011; though there was something that said the rules had changed in 2012.....

Now I know my child tax credits and child benefit for her will stop, and am hoping to take a second job to deal with this.
What I can't find out is when her child tax credits end. Child benefit appears to continue until 31st August, so is it the same for child tax credits?
Or do they end as soon as college is finished?

Also, housing benefit....
At the minute, I get LHA for 3 bedroomed house.....I pay about two third of my rent and housing benefit pay a third. I'm sure I've read somewhere that I can continue getting 3 bedroomed rate during her first year at uni? Is this correct?

I would be grateful if anyone can give me any advice/share their experiences of this scenario. It's really annoying me that I can't find out the info I need......I want to be prepared and know what to expect......

child tax credits wikk end as soon as she leaves school.
if she registers with connexions, and looks for work until uni, then you will get a run on of ctc

Just bumping this up in case anyone else has any advice.......my 2 replies highlighted my problem......there seems to be conflicted advice on this.
Would appreciate advice from anyone who's had experience of this.....perhaps your child went to uni last year?

Blondebubbles - Thanks for the help.....I appreciate it.
It's good to know benefits will continue till end of August......but do I have to ring tax credits when she finishes college to tell them she will (hopefully) be going to uni in Sepember?

At least I'll know what I'm doing when it's youngest DDs turn!
