Just managed to pick myself up off the floor with laughter. We have just had a quote for a one off clean of our property before we put it up for sale. The house is in excellent order and already clean just wanted a one off to ensure it was 100% for ea pics. Even the guy said the house was well looked after.
Anyway we got in touch with mm through recommendation from friend and mother in law who did exactly the same one off clean and I mean like for like. They were charged £80 and £90 inc VAT, we have just been quoted £180 inc VAT!!! Ours is a relatively small 3 bed semi whilst mother in law us a 5 bed detached and friend 4 bed detached. Both needing a good clean after building work.
Needless to say won't be taking them up on offer, just a word of warning to anyone out there considering these con artists.

I've thought of doing exactly the same but if that's now the going rate I'll look for an independent person!
  • Ha we were daft enough to accept their one off 'deep clean'.

'Oh your house is so dirty we will need a deep clean before we can take you on'. Paid £120 - and had to call them back to do the bits they had missed. Needless to say we didn't bother to go with their regular service.

That was a few years ago, and put me off for a long time, but have just signed up for Nationwide Cleaners, and am really pleased. they are happy to do as much as you want, and there was none of the 'we need to do a visit first and rip you off for a deep clean'.

Yes, we had a quote for them for regular cleaning (taking over from our old cleaner) and they wanted to do a "deep clean" before starting (despite the house literally being spotless). We didn't go with them.
