6 year rule from account start or default date?

Hey folks,

Just wondering if you guys could shed any light on this. I have an outstanding amount of £450 with HSBC (but MKDP have taken the balance over) from an account which started in 2004. The default itself was issued in 2010.

Does the six year rule of it going off count from the account start or the default date itself?

I was kind of hoping it would be from when the account itself started but if It is the default date and It will not be shifting anytime soon, then I will have to bite the bullet and offer a settlement.

Appreciate your replies.
