How do I fix my kitty?

  • Insomnia and a clingy cat, I have to chuckle at that. Mine is currently huddling as close as she can to me or my sister under the covers, and has no qualms about stepping all over us. Needless to say, I've had many a foot/belly/rear end in the face, and I keep waking up because of it - I don't mind so much though because she makes an awesome hot water bottle. She's starting to sleep on the pillow now too which is actually an improvement for her.

I do wish that I could read her mind sometimes, because most of her meows are the same, I have to rely on her facial expression to figure out whether she actually wants something or is talking to me because I've caught her gaze. Your poor rescue cat, that image is sad.

6 months! How is she ever going to get back to normal if I give her so much attention for that long?!

Don't feel too sorry for her..she is already smugly staked out on the bed for her early breakfast. *And* managed to brainwash me into giving her a second supper. I still don't know how that happened, save that I'm tired and some automatic reflex (cat...hungry...feed) seems to have taken over. Mustn't make a habit of it...I'm met with the pretence of starvation every time I come in from work...when she has already been fed by DS a couple of hours before!

  • Just an update - she's clinging a lot less now, and doesn't have to be sitting on a person whenever she's with them. Her appetite is picking up too, and she has been playing like a mad creature this past week!

Thanks for the update! My neighbours cat has been alone for around two months now, and he's acting like king of the household now. He's definitely settled into a routine.
