There are quite a few websites out there offering to buy houses quickly. We buy any house being one of them. Has anyone had any experience dealing with these companies? What sort of offers do they make?

Low offers.
Search on here and you will find numerous people asking the same question.
Standard reply is that they are a bunch of thieves and shysters. Your experience may vary.Retired in 2015.

Your house is worth £150,000, they offer £125,000, you accept, then a day before exchange they change their offer to £100,000 and you're forced to accept because if you're considering using a company like this, you must be in a bad situation that requires money fast.
Much easier to just price low for a fast sale.0 -
Rather like the companies who buy 'any' cars etc..0

I think you probably need We Buy Any HorseLet's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
I agree they just offer you a low price.
I asked for a value on my property as I wanted to move quickly, the usual average price was £75k they offered £54k, I agreed as it was supposed to a 7 day sale only to find from their solicitor it could not be done in under 6 weeks so I put it on with an estate agent and sold it in 3 months for £62,500. Don't waste your time with them.Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.0 -
Don't even consider it, we did it in 2006, the worst thing we ever did. The name of the company who bought our house?................ Best Lets in Cannock. Thankfully the owner of that company is now Bankrupt, so he won't be cheating any more people.0

Whether they are any good depends on what you expect/want to achieve from the deal. For most they're a bad deal .... and only used by the TRULY desperate.
Are you desperate? Very desperate?
You won't get what YOU think the house is worth, or even what an estate agent tells you it's worth ..... you'll get what it's worth to a fast cash buyer, which is less.
I'd buy it ..... if it were where I wanted to be and the sort of house I want - but, the reality is, the reason you can't sell it by usual channels is:
• It's not massively desirable
• It's not in a popular area
• You're asking too much
• You're asking too much for a quick buyer to be tempted.
Is it for sale/on RM yet?0 -
Everyone says don't touch, which I agree, but buy fast companies will of course buy at a low rate and sell on for profit.0

Thanks everyone that's pretty much what I thought. I am not desperate and don't appreciate Benjus' judgemental comment! I may have found a house I am interested in and the type of property in my price range is very rare so was looking to see if a quick move would be possibly. My house is not on the market at the moment.0
