Hi Guys,
Just wondering, I've completed the eligible checker for the Initial, and it came back that I've not 0 chance, however These is the critera:
To be eligible for a Barclaycard Initial you’ll need to meet the following criteria:
- Be over 18 - I'm 24
- Earn over £3,000 a year - Earn £18k
- Not be unemployed - Employed full time
- Not have been made bankrupt in the last six years – including having an Individual Voluntary Arrangement or Debt Relief Order - Never been bankrupt
- Not have more than one County Court Judgement - Have one from 2008 (dropping off in Aug)
- Not already have a Barclaycard credit card - Never had one
- Have lived at your current address for at least three months - Been at my address for 7 months (on ER)
- Not have recently missed a bill payment - Not missed a payment since 2008
Is there a way to apply and possibly ask them to reconsider/appeal? - I've currently got one CC (Cap 1 £400 limit - No balance carried). OR, should I wait until my CCJ drops off in Aug and apply then?
Any advice would be great!

The best thing is to wait for your ccj to drop. many lenders dont like ccjAqua Advance £ 9500 ( Settled ) | BC Platinum Card 25/25 £10500 | 24 studio £1950 | SimplyBe £1800 | Nationwide Flexplus A/C OD £800| Meaningless Noddles score= 3/50

Have you checked your credit record with all three CRA's? It may be the Default but I know the initial has a more relaxed criteria. You could just apply, see what happens and then appeal in you wish?0

Yeh I've checked with all three, I have 2 defaults, one drops next month and the other in July, both settled. So that may be the reason why?0

That could be the reason. Can you hang on till they drop off and then apply? You might also want to wait till the CCJ drops off too, then the slate should be clean.0

It'll be the CCJ most likely or for whatever reason you just don't fit their customer profile.
Have a look at the fluid eligibility checker. If it doesn't offer you the fluid card itself, it recommends products it thinks you'll be eligible for. It's how I acquired my first halfway decent card, the BoS in my signature.Oh, you wee bazza!0 -
Thanks Maestro
will try that and see what it comes back with!
