Increasing credit card limit

Hello!

I'm thinking about shuffling around some of my credit, lowering my credit limit on one card and increasing on another. The card I would like to increase is with Santander. I called them and was told that they couldn't increase my limit over the phone, but I could write to a special credit limit office to request a review.

Has anyone ever done this? What should I put in a letter to ask for an increase?

If you have two or more Santander cards you can move the limits between them. Not sure if this is any help but it might give you an option.

Just put how much you would like your credit limit increased by and mention if there is a specific reason.

Thanks both. I don't have two Santander cards, unfortunately. I'll get a letter sent out today.
