ScS are correct, as it is your job to ensure it will fit. However, can it not be brought up the stairs? If my posts have random wrong words, please blame the damn autocorrect not me0

You'll probably get more responses over on the 'consumer rights' board

But I beleive that SCS are within their rights to refuse a refund as they have supplied what you've ordered - however, as newbutold says, did they not try the stairs when delivering ?
Presumably you had a chance to examine a similar sofa instore and/or see details of it before you bought ?
I think the only way you could get a refund is if you could show that the reason it didn't fit in the lift / go up the stairs is that the sofa that they tried to deliver is bigger than the measurements they quoted and/or the one that you saw in the showroom.0 -
The other posters here are correct. Whenever I've been in the market for new lounge furniture, it has always stated on the invoice that it is the customers responsibility to ensure that the furniture ordered will fit through the doors of the property or into lifts if lifts are involved as in the case of flats. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -

SCS sells clothing now?
You must be a tall chap though... if your suit won't fit in the lift.:hello:0 -
You could try ringing head office.
I had a similar thing with DFS a few yeas ago. The shop manager was horrible but when I rang head office they asked if I had been offered the free measuring service they do and because I hadnt head office told them to refund me.
Worth a try anyway.
