I did the MSE eligibility checker for balance transfer cards I was getting an 80% chance with Capital one but I already have Capital one. Next one down the list was Royal bank of Scotland but 50% chance I kept trying every month and it remained the same.
I decided the other day to just try it anyway. The deal was 24 months 0% with I think 1.5% transfer fee. I normally get instant decline. But this time I got an instant acceptance but for 18 months but still very good result:j

Congrats on been approved for the card. These pre eligibility checkers don't really appear to be of much use. I've read on here people getting a high success rate but are then declined once they apply. I know most of the companies state that it doesn't guarantee acceptance and that it s subject to a full credit check, but it does make one wonder what they see during an eligibility check and a full credit check.0

As far as I know most "eligibility checkers" only use the call credit file, but when the hard pull is done it's usually on the other two. Hence, any discrepancies can work against you.
Come to think of it though I don't think any of the eligibility checkers I've used have then caused me to flunk it on the hard pull. It took me ages to get Barclays' one to work (as my address is a total faff) but when I did it gave me the card I wanted, and same for fluid one twice. The MSE one looks a but dodgy but still gave me results I expected.Oh, you wee bazza!0 -
I've tried it once with Nationwide just to see and they left a quotation search on Experian.0

@misscutiepie1984, congrats on your acceptance.
Please can you share more, what is your credit history like, any late payment ? default ?
or just a limited credit hisory?
I use to have 20% chance of RBS card through MSE checker before, but since last month it jumped to 50%.
Also, MBNA offer me 16 months balance transfer card instead of their 29months one when i tried their eligibility checker.
I dont have any bad credit history but just limited history.Aqua Advance £ 9500 ( Settled ) | BC Platinum Card 25/25 £10500 | 24 studio £1950 | SimplyBe £1800 | Nationwide Flexplus A/C OD £800| Meaningless Noddles score= 3/50 -

I was in a DMP for several years so had AP markers on my file added every month. Never got a default though had I of got defaults my file would be clear now. Instead its still going to show for a further 3 years
MBNA offered me a card about 2 years back but wanted bank statements. Once they had seen them they declined me as I was living in my overdraft but that is the very reason I wanted the card.Official DFW Nerd number 227

Nice. BOS seem to be a fairly easy-to-get lender going by my experience and others I've read. In fact they make quite good credit builders. I was given mine only 7 or so months after getting a vanquis, still on subprime APR at 23.59% but it was nice to have a "real" card so soon.Oh, you wee bazza!0
