Rightmove 'Most Recent'

What sort of things make you go to the top of searches if you sort 'most recent'? (other than being a new property of course)

My EA just told me it's only if you reduce your asking price by £5000 or more.... is this true?

  • Hi OP, yes it's true although I think Rightmove do it off a percentage in your price change rather than a flat reduction. We have always been told by our Rightmove rep that it's a 2% or more reduction on the asking price, which will boost it onto the most recent list as a price reduction.

It is possible to cheat the system by asking your agent to remove your property from Rightmove for 24 hours then re-upload, this should make it into a "New" property as well.
  • i was told it was a reduction of 2% I don't know if that would match the 5k figure you were given, depends on your asking price. I'm not sure what else bumps it up, hopefully someone else can help you with that.
  • thanks guys! both responses have helped me :)

i've just had some new photos taken after doing a LOT of work and general tarting up so i hope people see my listing!! (i'm trying photos THEN a price reduction if/when I join a new EA.... letting January just run on at the moment!
