Safari can't connect to server

Having recently got an ipad, I thought I would try out Safari as a PC browser.
Unfortunately, while IE and FF connect without problems on my PC, Safari refuses to run!
Any ideas?

Problem solved by uninstalling Safari and doing a new re-instal of the browser0
