    If your in Scotland they are currently doing it for free, some government initiative. Maybe contact your local council, it might be free where you are
  • My parents have lived in the same house for 42 years, and had cavity wall insulation put in two years ago. Although they agree that the house is warmer in the winter, they have also found it to be chilly during spring/autumn - they've needed the heating on when in the past they wouldn't have. And for the first time they've had problems with condensation in the garage - which is attached to the house but wasn't included in the insulating. I guess warmth from the house is no longer getting in to the garage.

    Mum has actually said they would have it taken out if it was possible.

    Given the large variations in temperature from year to year I would say its premature attributing the difference to the CWI, it could just be a difference in the weather in those springs and autumns. If heat loss to the garage has been cut that is surely a good thing and the condensation there can be countered by better ventilation.
